Sculptures Out Back is an annual outdoor sculpture exhibition held from July to September, featuring themes of cultural heritage, local history, community, and the environment. The exhibition highlights works made from scrap metal, tools, horseshoes, barbed wire, or any medium suitable for the outdoors, making it a must-see event for both art and photography lovers. In previous years, there have been sculptures of birds, goats, and even a life-size cowboy on a horse. 

It’s open to all artists, and is often an avenue to discover new talent in Roma. While many have not won the grand prize for the exhibition, plenty of artists have gained commissions because of it. You can view the majority of the artworks near the entrance to the town, with smaller installations spread throughout.

Judd’s Lagoon

Almost an hour outside Roma, you’ll find Judd’s Lagoon in Yuleba, a spot famous for its abundant and beautiful water lilies, alongside an active bird and animal population. So aside from still nature shots, you can also camp here and set up your camera for wildlife photography!

Lining both sides of the street, the bottle trees pay tribute to the servicemen and servicewomen lost during the First World War, lending a beautiful backdrop for those wanting to commemorate the location with a tasteful approach to photography.
